Tales of the Fossiles
Tales of the Fossils is our new exhibition featuring beautiful, world-class fossils.
Be marveled by the delicate and extraordinary detail found in a butterfly wing, different insects and even feathers. These fossils are so well preserved that you can still see their patterns and textures.
The fossils were discovered in layers of mo-clay around Fur and Mors in North Jutland that are 55 million years old. Fossils found here in the mo-clay are some of the most unique and intact fossils in the world.
The fossils are so well preserved, they act as a window into the past, a world that was very different from today. These fossils tell a story of a much warmer climate and an area of Denmark that saw extreme volcanic activity.
